About me.

My name is Vonda Nixon. I grew up on a homestead in Chugiak, Alaska. My dad knew farming so that is what he did with the land. He called it a “ farmstead ”. We ate healthier than most people as we produced a lot of our own food. Between the animals, a large garden, and a greenhouse we always had plenty. Of course, that also meant that at a very young age, I participated in all the preserving of the foods we ate. I cooked my first meal the year before I started school. Being one of the oldest of 6 kids, I had a lot of responsibilities. From cooking for the family to cooking for the crew during haying season, I had a lot of experience. I owned a “ personal chef service ” while living in Anchorage. I gave it up to move to Homer. I love helping people eat healthy food. It gives me pleasure to free up their time to do what they love to do instead of “ slavin ” away in the kitchen. It is my hope that you will find my service a real big help in feeding your family without a lot of fuss. You are what you eat. Eat healthy be healthy.
